Following are notes from the Residents Meeting from an attendee of the meeting 29062017 at 6pm If you would like a say, have the oppportunity to speak to your local councillors, housing representatives and other community spokespersons, come along to the next meeting on 27th July, 1pm, at the Belle Vue Centre. The group was invited to view the proposed location of a new CCTV camera, to be installed at the corner of Borrowdale Street and Kathleen Street. Attendees enquired to whether this camera was able to rotate and this information will be source for the next meeting. See image for exact placement of camera Group members were concerned about fly tipping in the area. However satisfied with how quickly it was dealt with when they reported it to their local councillors. Unfortunately the feeling was that if they went through calling the council department, something was less likely to be done and potentially this should be remedied PCSO Mark Say attended with an overview of policing for the month of May. He informed us that PCSOs no longer cover wards and that the team collectively cover the whole of Hartlepool, attending incidents and patrolling areas across the town. Mark also reiterated a plea that has been made several times to the group and that was for people to report any crime they suspect ASAP and reporting can be made via 101 or Cleveland Connect httpswww.clevelandconnected.co.uk ( for nonurgent crimes ) A number of events were promoted including a show to be held on Rift House Rec on 19th August which includes fairground rides, stalls and a car boot A large scale event on 2nd September the Waterfront festival is to be held on the former Jacksons Landing site and culminates in an outdoor movie screening. Voters can choose their preferred performance by visiting httpswww.facebook.comevents302634640183696permalink302643946849432 The Belle Vue Centre told us about a really successful fundraiser, organised by a number of young people and because of this the centre been able to run a play scheme through the summer months for young children attending the youth club The centre has also been successful in gaining funding from the holiday hunger initiative that will give children accessing the youth services in the centre, meals through the holidays. There is a pilot project running of a soup kitchen Tuesdays 23pm, formed to support homeless and sofa surfing by giving advice and guidance and practical assistance
