Hartlepool Remembered Legacies of t

Event Programme at the Heugh Battery Museum, 16th December 2017 Hartlepool Remembered Legacies of the Bombardment This centenary project will run a stall through the day, offering visitors the chance to record details of their families or community groups to be included in the Hartlepool Bombardment Centenary Scrapbook. This book will capture a snapshot of how Hartlepool people remembered the bombardment and commemorated the centenaries. This project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, is a collaboration between community groups in Hartlepool and WW1 researchers at the University of Leeds. Durham Pals Reenactment Group Soldiers from the Durham Light Infantry will be on site throughout the day telling tales of their time in the trenches and performing drill on the parade ground. The Heugh Battery Museum welcomes visitors FREE OF CHARGE for the rest of the day. Please come and join us after the service for a hot drink and further commemoration activities. Our caf will be open until 2.30pm.
