What a lovely review Jack left for us on TripAdvisor! We went to Heugh Battery Museum on Saturday. I went with my mam, uncle, brother. When we went there we saw a cannon and a tank from the WW2 era. Then we entered in the main centre were you enter in. On one of the walls was rifles and also a timeline. There was a shop bit as well. Once we got outside we saw lots of army things. We looked at the things from WW2 first as it wasnt too big. We also went in a command centre and looked out to the sea were the soldiers would of in WW1. Also in the info centre a worker told us about the history of WW1 in a attack during WW1. All the things from WW1 had lots of detail and even a short description of the weapon or vehicle. You could even go inside one of the vehicles. Once we explored the open bit and explored mostly on the right side we went downstairs to the trench bit. We read about that rats were the soldiers companions in there trench and looked were the soldiers would of shot out of into the fields of enemies. We also saw the medical bit and read what would happen if they got wounded Which my brother even spotted out a rat on the floor (fake one). After that we went to the garden were it showed some men who fought in WW1. We also saw it had a poem on the wall named Flanders Field. We read it. After that we went in the armoury. Whilst some other people were in it we looked around. After he showed us the Russian rifle which they used and let us hold them all and showed us what they done when they fired it they showed us the British and German as well. Then we got to see the helmets they used and the box which they used to Maybe keep a few things. Then we saw the grenades. We also saw one of the uniforms they used there in the war. We went to the gift shop, bought some things. Also the job of the man in the armoury and some other people were volunteers! It was a really good time! Jack aged 10
