What a lucky pup! You can bring your lucky pups to the museum as we are fully dog friendly. On #NationalDogDay, were sharing the story of this remarkable (sea) dog. He was rescued by HMS Aberdeen a hundred miles out in the Atlantic among the floating wreckage of a French merchant ship in February 1944. The dog was christened HMV as, according to Lieutenant Commander Day, HMS Aberdeens Commanding Officer, He looked just like the famous dog of His Masters Voice Records. Now ships mascot, in this photograph HMV gets a handshake of congratulations from Lieutenant Commander Day after his rescue.
