A busy afternoon for Hartlepool Coastguard Rescue Team Seaham Coastguard at Seaton Carew today. CALLOUT 010718 1323 Whilst packing up from this mornings training session with AC5 Humber CGOC paged the team to 2 persons who had got into difficulty whilst swimming at Seaton Carew beach. The two casualties had self recovered to the beach and had inhaled some sea water. Team members arrived on scene alone with Seaham Coastguard and NEAS. Team members and paramedics assessed Casualties and then handed over to the care of the ambulance service for further treatment. CALLOUT 010718 1430 Whilst standing down from the previous incident at Seaton Carew beach a member of the public approached us and informed us their child had gone missing on the beach. A search plan was devised, Hartlepool Coastguard Rescue Team vehicle was to carry out a search north and south on the beach, Search team 1 searched the sand dunes south and the beach by foot, search team 2 searched the car park, fairground and funfair. After a short time searching for the missing child they were located safe and well on the beach. Child handed over to parents and safety advice given by team members. A good outcome on a very busy beach this afternoon. 07AH
