Appeal after damage and theft at Stranton Cemetery Police are appealing for information after a fence round a grave was deliberately damaged, and lights and ornaments of sentimental value were stolen from the same plot in a Hartlepool cemetery. The grave, in the north west corner of Stranton Cemetery, Brierton Lane, was targeted between 3pm on Thursday 18th May and 4pm on Friday 19th May and police are asking anyone with information to ring PC Marie Owen of Cleveland Police on 101. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers via their website at www.crimestoppersuk.org or by phoning them on 0800 555 111.
