Drivers are advised that essential road resurfacing works will be carried out in the coming weeks on various routes across Hartlepool. The resurfacing works which are being funded through the Councils Highway Improvement Funding Programme will repair surface damage caused by adverse weather conditions on various roads, whilst also making necessary improvements to residential neighbourhoods. Diversion routes will be in place with signs to inform drivers. If any of the below works fall on a day when a normal scheduled bin collection is due, please ensure that bins are presented by no later than 7.30am on the day of collection. Residents should also be advised that scheduled works may be delayed in the event of adverse weather conditions. The Council apologises for any inconvenience which this essential resurfacing work may cause. West View Road (A1049) Resurfacing works will be carried out on the section of West View Road between the Brus roundabout up to the railway bridge (just beyond Warren Road) beginning on Thursday 25th July and running until Friday 2nd August. The works will start daily at 7.30am and finish at 4.30pm. Works will pause on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th July, when the road will be reopened to traffic. Works will then recommence on Monday 29th July through to Friday 2nd August. Chatham Gardens The works will take place along the full length of Chatham Gardens from Chatham Road to Challoner Road on Monday 5th August. The works will begin at 7.30am and finish at 4.30pm. Jesmond Gardens The works will be carried out on the section of Jesmond Gardens between Chatham Road and Chester Road (traffic lights) on Tuesday 6th August. The works will begin at 7.30am and finish at 4.30pm. Welldeck Road The works will take place on the section of Welldeck Road between Cundall Road and Grange Road on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th August. The works will begin at 7.30am and finish at 4.30pm daily. Kingsley Avenue The works will take place on the section of Kingsley Avenue between Oxford Road roundabout and Hartlepool Sixth Form College from Wednesday 7th until Friday 9th August. The works will begin at 7.30am and finish at 4.30pm daily. Loyalty Road The works will take place in Loyalty Road between both Stockton Road junctions on Thursday 8th, Friday 9th and Monday 12th August. The works will begin at 7.30am and finish at 4.30pm daily. Works will pause on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th August, when the road will be reopened to traffic. Letters will be delivered to all residents affected two weeks in advance, and notices will be placed around the affected area seven days in advance of work beginning. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the duration of the works. Butts Lane The works will take place on the section of Butts Lane from Manor Cottage up towards the left hand fork of the lane on Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th August. The works will begin at 7.30am and finish at 4.30pm daily. Hart Lane Footpath The works will take place on the section of footpath on Hart Lane running from Dunston Road roundabout up to the section of footpath leading to Saddleston Close on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th August. The works will begin at 7.30am and finish at 4.30pm daily, and whilst the works are being carried out this section of footpath will be closed to pedestrians.
