Half term fun at Oscars

PARENTS IN Hartlepool have been reminded about an actionpacked week of fun

Half term fun at Oscars PARENTS IN Hartlepool have been reminded about an actionpacked week of fun and activities for their children during the May half term school holiday break. The Councilrun Oscar club is based at Rossmere Youth Centre on Rossmere Way and has arranged an exciting package of activities for children aged 3 to 16 from Tuesday 30 May to Friday 2 June. The service, which has been running for over 20 years, has been hailed as outstanding by Ofsted inspectors. During the half term break, parents are able drop off their children from 8.00am with breakfast provided for them on arrival. They then embark on an actionpacked day of fun and thrills prior to being collected by parents by 5.45pm. A wide range of activities have been lined up for youngsters as Sandra Robinson, the Councils Out of School Coordinator, explains The team have put together a varied programme which includes a toy day, sports and games, films plus visits to the local museum and park. Weve also got a session when children will be able to make their own bird feeders and a demonstration on how to look after pets. Our centre at Rossmere is fantastic for both indoor and outdoor activities and everyone is looking forward to the half term programme. As a parent myself, I know how difficult it can be to balance working and looking after the children and Oscars can ease the pressure on parents. The emphasis is always on fun at Oscars and parents can relax knowing that their children are enjoying themselves and are in safe hands. Oscars also operate an afterschool service on weekdays which involves children being collected from school and transported to the centre where they take part in a wide range of educational and fun activities. Parents then have until 6pm to collect their children. Anyone wishing to book, view facilities at Oscars or requiring further information should email sandra.robinson@hartlepool.gov.uk or call 07771 936968.
