Hartlepool Coastguard Rescue Team Hartlepool RNLI issue strong safety advice to sea goers after going to sea on a small craft intoxocated and with no navigation device in the fog last night. CALLOUT 28528. @2024 Paged by Humber CGOC to concerns from two disorientated males in a small rib who had got lost in the fog. They believed they had come ashore at seaton Carew. As we were departing the station Hartlepool RNLI had spotted the craft with two intoxocated males on board and decided best thing to do is to transfer them onto the ILB. They brought the males back to the lifeboat station towing their small craft to safety. Safety advice was given one being that google maps is not a form of device to use to navigate the sea especially on a foggy night. Due to the nature of the incident local harbour police were also on scene. Along with Seaham Coastguard. 07AH
