Last week, Police Dog Sam was required to assist the Operations Support Unit and the Drugs Unit with a drugs warrant at a property on Furness Street in Hartlepool. Once deployed in the property, Sam cleverly managed to sniff out thousands of pounds hidden in a chest of drawers (believed to be 45k in total). A small amount of cannabis was also recovered from the property. Three men aged 26, 31 and 44 were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences in connection with the recovered money and drugs and they have been released under investigation.
