Late night callout for the Hartlepool Coastguard Rescue Team @ 2202, 180817 Paged by Humber CGOC after vessels off the coast spotted red flares going off in the vicinity of Hordon Blackhall area. They arrived on scene along with Seaham Coastguard and S5B to conduct a shoreline search of the area between Blackhall picnic site and Easington. As they were on the beach at Blackhall they seen two more flares go of inland over the Hordon area. With confirmation that no vessels were in distress durham police continued the search inland Please remember flares are not fireworks and should only be used in an emergency .
