Members of the Hartlepool Community Safety Team have had a busy day today having first of all followed their noses to an address in Oxford Road where a pungent smell was detected. On further investigation approximately 25 cannabis plants were on display for all to see through the front window! Unsurprisingly there was no answer to their knocks at the door and Police were able to enter the property and dismantle the small farm. The plants which were all between two and four feet tall were bagged up and seized to be destroyed. Efforts are ongoing to locate the green fingered occupants of the address so that they can help with enquiries. Shortly afterwards a 37 year old male was located and arrested in Cornwall Street with an outstanding court warrant he is now on his way to Teesside Magistrates Court to be dealt with.
