By Hartlepool Alert

Officers from the Hartlepool Community Safety Team comprising of the Hartlepool Neighbourhood Police Team, Hartlepool Borough Council and Cleveland Fire Brigade UK as well as Ward Councillors, representatives from Thirteen Housing and private landlords attended the area of Wynyard Mews today for a multiagency Day of Action. As part of the actions door knocks and leaflet drops were completed to update residents on what was occurring and field any complaints. Grounds maintenance was undertaken to remove rubbish and debris, replace overgrown bushes with grass and generally improve the overall look of the area. Checks were completed for untaxed vehicles and additional patrols will be carried out by police and enforcement teams in the coming days in an attempt to tackle issues affecting residents. In addition to this the Mayor held a coffee morning at the South Community Hub on Wynyard Road for residents to attend and discuss any concerns they may have. Councillor Christopher AkersBelcher, Chair of the Safer Hartlepool Partnership and Leader of Hartlepool Borough Council, said This latest Day of Action follows a similar operation carried out recently in a number of streets in Hartlepool town centre which proved very successful. We hope the Wynyard Mews initiative will have the same positive effect and we would urge residents to support us in our efforts to tackle the issues affecting this area.
