Police are working closely with the Little Tern Wardens based at Crimdon. They have had some reports of persons attempting to disturb this protected Schedule 1 bird whilst they are nesting at this site. Please be aware that any disturbance of these birds is an offence and we urge visitors to the area to ensure that their dogs are kept on lead near to the Tern Site which is clearly marked. They also have had information that oologists (egg collectors) are active in this area. Please be aware that it is an offence to be in possession or take possession of any wild birds eggs and it is down to the possessor to prove that posession is lawful.
