Pupils and staff from Kingsley Primary School in Hartlepool have kindly donated lots of towels, food, treats and beds to Stray Aid kennels in Coxhoe, County Durham. The school chose to support Stray Aid, which cares for dogs picked up by Hartlepool Borough Councils Dog Warden Service, after pupils on the School Council decided they wanted to help a local charity. The children spent a lot of time talking about how they could help, and produced posters asking for donations which were put up around the school. They also decided to stage a bring a towel to exchange for a cake day, with staff providing cakes and the children donating money or a towel in exchange. The event was a great success and 156 was raised in the process. In recognition of its support, the school received a visit from Toffee, a dog which at the time was being cared for by Stray Aid.
