The International Womens Day celebration in Hartlepool Art Gallery was a great success, with more than 300 people taking part. The event was hosted by Unisons SelfOrganised Womens Group and Hartlepool Borough Council and included a number of different speakers. Here the Councils Chief Executive Gill Alexander and Karen PearsonLoughlin of Unison Hartlepool explain its importance.
