TV SERIES ABOUT THE REAL IMPACT OF UNIVERSAL CREDIT A big THANK YOU to the many people who contacted Blast Films Hartlepool after our post two weeks ago They are now hoping to speak to more Hartlepool people who are working but also receiving UC. As well as anyone who is about to move from the old benefits system to Universal Credit Blast Films is making a series of four documentaries about the arrival of Universal Credit in Hartlepool for Channel 4. They want to follow the stories of a wide range of people in the town so they can show the real impact of UC on their lives positive or negative. Hartlepool is one of the first areas to move over to UC so the experience of people here could have important lessons for the rest of the country. Are you facing a gap before first payments come through? Are you already on UC and getting a different amount to live on compared to the old system? How is UC affecting parents and their children, people who are living with disabilities, or parttime workers trying to make ends meet? If you, or someone you know, might be willing to help them tell the story of Universal Credit in Hartlepool, please get in touch.
