Update about RML 497 ahead of her move to the National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool. We successfully loaded RML 497 onto the cradle in the barge, Terra Marique, yesterday. It took longer than expected, with the need to reflood the barge again to improve hull alignment with the cradle, together with the further use of the diving team to develop our understanding of the keels position. She has settled onto the cradle with external assessment of the hull showing no damage to the structure. Given the number of variables and risk for this lift it has been a success. Hartlepool beckons this week.
