Walking football sessions in Hartlepool are an ideal opportunity for injured, retired and novice players to take part in a gentler form of the beautiful game. They can also be of huge benefit to people wanting to improve their health. Here, Leo Carroll talks about how he has benefitted from playing since suffering a heart attack. Sessions take place on Mondays at Brierton Sports Centre from 23pm and on Wednesdays at Mill House Leisure Centre from 1.302.30pm. The Brierton Sports Centre sessions cost 2.50 per person per session, while the Mill House Leisure Centre sessions which are aimed specifically at men aged 50 and over, are free due to a partnership between Hartlepool Borough Council and the Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation.
