Were receiving lots of messages about a large fire in the sky last night near the power station. Its this Flaring is taking place on SABICs Olefins 6 plant today, due to a machine trip. The maintenance team are working hard to rectify the issue, but the flare may last some time. Flaring is an essential safety system and there is no risk to the general public. SABIC would like to apologise for any disturbance caused. The power station was not and is not on fire.
